Edwin and Meiji have teamed up to release a new line of sustainable, upcycled selvedge denim made from cacao husk. This unique project combines Edwin’s innovative denim culture with Meiji’s mission to contribute to health through creative ideas, aiming to introduce a new value in both jeans and cacao. The star of this collection is the original selvedge denim crafted from threads that blend powdered cacao husk and traditional Japanese washi paper. This fabric offers a lighter, drier feel compared to regular denim, with a unique shiny texture. The selvedge itself is a special chocolate brown and gold combination, inspired by Meiji’s iconic Milk Chocolate packaging.

Both the jeans and denim jacket feature an exclusive "CACAO STYLE" leather label, created especially for this collaboration. Made from natural vegetable-tanned leather, the label will deepen in color over time, developing a rich amber patina as it ages. Each piece also includes a limited-edition flasher inspired by Meiji’s Milk Chocolate and comes with a chocolate-themed charm featuring the Edwin logo.

Cacao beans, the raw material for chocolate, have husks that are typically removed during production as they negatively impact flavor and texture if left in the final product. Meiji has focused on finding new uses for these cacao husks, launching their lifestyle brand "CACAO STYLE" to explore the potential of cacao beyond traditional uses.
